Should Australia build warships

Australia plans to acquire a wide range of naval vessels in the decades ahead at a total  cost in the tens of billions of dollars.

Taxpayers can rightly demand that those acquisitions  are undertaken in a way that ensures value for money.

Meeting that demand requires careful attention to the balance between domestic production and the import of naval vessels.
