The Global Forces conference was held at the Hyatt Hotel starting with the Conference Dinner on the 10th August. The keynote speaker was Dr Parag Khanna, Senior Research Fellow, American Strategy Program, The New America Foundation. Dr Khanna spoke on the topic of “Power and leadership in the 21st century”. The conference sessions were held on 11 August 2011.

The conference is designed to bring a group of distinguished Australian and international speakers together to share different perspectives of strategic and security affairs with our audience. The conference focuses on the bigger geopolitical issues shaping Australia’s strategic landscape. 

Speakers included Professor Hew Strachan, Dr Leanne Piggott, Mr Saul Eslake, Professor Wang Jisi, Professor Ian Morris, Associate Professor Neville Meaney and Major General (Retd) Peter Abigail.
