Professional Development Centre
Mission: Shaping and influencing strategic policy capability to meet Australia’s current and future challenges through tailored programs and solutions for government and the private sector.
The ASPI Professional Development (ASPI-PD) Centre leverages ASPI’s reputation, broad research focus and access to leading world experts to design, develop and deliver unique professional development programs. Our programs deliver a unique capability designed to build Australia’s capacity for strategic policy excellence in the highest levels of federal, state and territory governments and their departments and agencies.
Our programs foster close engagement between stakeholders and experts to explore current and emerging policy challenges. We utilise scenarios, case studies, simulations, and desk top exercises which actively engage participants in addressing real-world complex and multi-faceted strategic policy and operational issues.
The ASPI-PD Centre’s highly interactive, practical based programs aim to develop skills in the following areas:
- Strategy, Policy and Framework Development
- Complex Thinking Skills
- Problem Solving and Red Teaming
- Strategic Analysis
- Leadership Development
Our team can also work with departments, agencies and organisations to deliver this capability. For instance, we have experience working with clients to deliver strategic policies that address challenges within their organisation.
The ASPI-PD Centre is also developing new programs where registration is open to both public and private sector participants. The most recently released course, Thinking Outside the Box, aims to develop imaginative and intellectual skills that can assist participants in dealing with complex problems in their workplace.
The Centre’s core team is supplemented by a range of subject matter experts who act as mentors, facilitators, and presenters throughout our programs. Click here to see the extended ASPI-PD Centre team.
We offer bespoke programs that are tailor-made to meet the strategic challenges facing you and your team. We encourage you to contact us to discuss the needs of your team, department, or organisation.
