Counterterrorism Yearbook 2021

Counter-terrorist efforts constitute an important subset of Australian strategic policy and the ASPI Counter-terrorism program was established in late 2015.

The CT Program aims to:

Explain the counter-terrorism environment, including policy, legislation, terrorist threat, cross-jurisdiction and international issues.
Provide counter-terrorism policy advice, alternatives and contestability

The program undertakes research across the spectrum of counter-terrorism topics, facilitates dialogue and discussion amongst stakeholders, and provides advice to government, community and industry stakeholders, with a particular focus on what can be done to counter terrorism.
