ASPI’s Women in Defence and Security Network (WDSN) is pleased to invite you to a public event on careers in Defence intelligence.
Join us in Canberra or online for a special panel with senior intelligence leaders from Defence for a discussion on their career experiences and the different career pathways in this sector.
Speakers include:
- Vanessa Ganley, CSC, Assistant Secretary Intelligence Enterprise Management, Defence Intelligence Group
- Brigadier Nerolie McDonald, Director General Pacific and Timor-Leste Branch, Department of Defence
- Air Commodore Dianne Turton, AM, Director General Intelligence Capability Integration, Defence Intelligence Group
- Commodore Alison Westwood, Director General Joint Cyber Warfare – Force Development
This discussion will be moderated by former intelligence official and ASPI Director, Dr Alex Caples.
This event is suited to those studying, working or interested in national security, international affairs and STEM related fields, and are keen to learn more about Defence intelligence as a career, including what it involves and why the field is vital to the national interest. As career intelligence professionals, panellists will discuss their different career choices, share career advice with attendees and explain how Defence intelligence fits into the national security community.
While ASPI’s WDSN is primarily a forum for women in the Defence, foreign policy and security communities, we encourage attendance from anyone with an interest in this event.
For those joining us in Canberra, this event will be followed by a networking reception.
