Biography
Grant Ferguson joined ASPI in August 2018 as a member of the Professional Development Centre team. He came to ASPI having spent the previous four years in Defence People Group leading Project Suakin, a transformational ADF workforce reform program.
Grant has extensive military experience having served in the Royal Australian Navy and Navy Reserve for over 38 years. In addition, Grant spent three years as a senior management consultant on the staff of KPMG.
Grant possesses a broad range of skills: project management including stakeholder, risk and change management; in-depth experience in materiel logistics, operational logistics, financial and human resource management, business process improvement and policy development. These skills are supplemented by command experience and extensive team building, leadership and problem-solving abilities.
Grant holds a Master of Arts in Strategic Studies, Graduate Diplomas in Administration and Resource Management and a Graduate Certificate in Management Studies. He is a Certified Professional Logistician, a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Logistics and Transport Australia and a member of the Australian Institute of Project Management.
His efforts as Director General Project Suakin were recognised with the award of the Conspicuous Service Cross in the 2018 Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
