Fergus Hunter was an analyst with ASPI's International Cyber Policy Centre.
His research focuses on countering economic coercion. His commentary has been published in a range of Australian and international outlets, including Foreign Policy, POLITICO Europe and The Australian.
Fergus has a decade of experience in media and journalism. Before joining ASPI, he was a reporter with The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age newspapers. Between 2014 and 2020, he covered politics and policy in Canberra. From 2020 to 2022, he reported on crime from Sydney.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts, with majors in international relations and political science, from the Australian National University.
