Public Address by Chris Painter
Speakers Chris Painter
Please join ASPI’s International Cyber Policy Centre (ICPC) for a public address by former top US cyber adviser Chris Painter. Chris worked under both the Obama and Trump administrations and has been on the vanguard of US and international cyber issues for over twenty-five years - first as a leading federal prosecutor of some of the most high-profile cybercrime cases in the country, then as a senior official at the Department of Justice, the FBI, the National Security Council and finally as the world’s first top cyber diplomat at the State Department.
Chris will talk about cyber as a tool of statecraft and outline what he sees as the key strategic issues and cyber threats currently facing the world. Australia’s Cyber Ambassador Tobias Feakin and Macquarie Government Managing Director Aidan Tudenhope will also participate in the event.
A canapes and drinks reception will conclude the event. Chris Painter is in Australia as the inaugural distinguished fellow at ASPI’s International Cyber Policy Centre (ICPC). His visit is made possible thanks to the generous support of DFAT’s Cyber Affairs Special Visits Program, Macquarie Telecom Group and ICPC core sponsors.
