ASPI’s Women in Defence and Security Network is delighted to commence 2016 with a presentation from Lieutenant-General Christine Whitecross, Canada’s senior female military officer.
LGen Whitecross is the Chief of Military Personnel in the Canadian Forces. She has served as Commander of the Canadian Forces Strategic Response Team on Sexual Misconduct since May 2015.

LGen Whitecross enlisted in the Canadian Forces in 1982, joining the Canadian Military Engineers. Her positions have included Chief of Staff to the Assistant Deputy Minister (Infrastructure and Environment) and Chief Military Engineer of the Canadian Forces at National Defence Headquarters.
LGen Whitecross holds a Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering from Queen's University and a Masters Degree in Defence Studies from the Royal Military College. She is a graduate of Command and Staff College and the Advanced Military Studies Course at the Canadian Forces College. She is a recipient of the Order of Military Merit and was awarded the US Defense Meritorious Service Medal for her service at ISAF Headquarters, Afghanistan.
