The Australian Strategic Policy Institute, in partnership with the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP), invites you to the launch of the IEP report 'Global Terrorism Index 2022: Measuring the Impact of Terrorism'.

Produced annually, the IEP Global Terrorism Index provides a comprehensive summary of the key trends in global terrorism. This ninth edition of the report provides a specific focus on the Sahel region, political terrorism, and the impact of the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic on terrorism.

The panel features Dr David Hammond, Director of Research, Institute for Economics and Peace; Sofia Koller, Senior Research Analyst at the German Counter Extremism Project (CEP); Dr Muhammad Dan Suleiman, Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia's (UWA) Africa Research & Engagement Centre, and moderated by Katja Theodorakis, Head of ASPI’s Counterterrorism Program.

Join the panel to discuss the report's key findings, the socio-economic conditions under which terrorism occurs, the recent geopolitical drivers, and how terrorism has changed over time.

This is a hybrid event, with the option to attend in-person or online.
