ASPI Presents: The future of Western special operations after Afghanistan

The Australian Strategic Policy Institute is delighted to invite you to the upcoming event ‘The future of Western special operations after Afghanistan’.

This event will explore how the role of special operations may change in the future, and what lessons can be learnt from Afghanistan.

The event will begin with a keynote address by Professor David Kilcullen, followed by a panel discussion and Q&A with Senator Jim Molan AO, DSC and Major General (Ret’d) Professor Adam Findlay AO, moderated by ASPI’s Executive Director Peter Jennings PSM. The panel will consider the future of Western special operations, as well as the impacts of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on international security.

Please note, this is a hybrid event with the option to attend in-person at ASPI or online. For those attending in-person, a light reception will be served at the event's conclusion
