An Asia-Pacific Borrel was organised for the launch of Asia-Pacific Insights: Regional perspectives on the Global Conference on CyberSpace 2015.
Directly preceding the 2015 Global Conference on CyberSpace (GCCS) in The Hague, the ICPC convened an Asia-Pacific themed Borrel. This official GCCS side-event saw the launch of ICPC’s Asia-Pacific Insights paper and featured opening remarks from DFAT Assistant Secretary for Intelligence and Security, Mr Ian Biggs.
The event drew several government heads of delegation and created an opportunity for informal networking, plus the chance to strengthen the voice of the Asia-Pacific at the GCCS.
A ‘borrel’ is a friendly, inviting, and informal get-together usually over drinks. Ideally it exhibits ‘gezelligheid’ bringing together good company, enriching conversation, and a welcoming atmosphere. This event was an opportunity for informal networking and the chance to amplify the voice of the Asia-Pacific at the GCCS.
