Biography

Sofia is a Non-Resident Research Fellow working with ASPI on international security challenges related to terrorism and violent extremism. Sofia is currently a PhD candidate at the Department of War Studies at King's College London. Her postgraduate research is focusing on gender and counterterrorism in the UK and Australia. 

Prior to joining ASPI, Sofia worked as an intelligence analyst for QinetiQ as well as a number of think tanks in the UK such as RUSI, Demos and Quilliam, researching and writing on existing and emerging security threats such as Islamist terrorism and far right populism.

Sofia holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Manchester in Spanish and Arabic and a post-graduate MA from SOAS University in London in Middle Eastern politics
