Renata Dwan is the Director of the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR).

She previously held high-level roles in the UN Departments of Peacekeeping Operations and Field Support where she led major UN-wide policy and reform initiatives on peace and security issues. She has also held roles at Stockholm International Peace Research Institute and the EastWest Institute’s European Security Programme and worked as a Special Adviser to the European Union Council Secretariat for the first European Union crisis management operation.
