Lieutenant Colonel Batt is a serving infantry officer in the Australian Army.

He has held a wide range of command, staff and operational appointments throughout his career, including command and operational service in Australia’s near region and the Middle East.

Lieutenant Colonel Batt was recently the Commanding Officer of the Royal Military College – Duntroon and has previously held staff appointments at Headquarters Joint Operations Command and Headquarters Forces Command. He has served with the United Nations in Lebanon and Syria and is a graduate of the Australian Defence Academy, Royal Military College – Duntroon and Australian Command and Staff College.

He holds a Masters of Philosophy in Military History from the University of New South Wales.
