Dr Ji-Jen Hwang is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Strategic Studies at the National Defense University in R.O.C. Taiwan.
Before that, he was a visiting fellow with the Freeman Chair in China Studies at the Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS) located in Washington D.C. in 2014/2015. He was also invited to be a special lecturer of PLA Studies at the PACOM in 2013. A native of Taiwan, he holds a Ph.D. in politics from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in the U.K., as well as a Masters in Library Science & Information Studies from the University of North Carolina in U.S.A. He currently is appointed to be the Director of International Master Program for Strategic Studies at the N.D.U.
Dr. Hwang has been well known as an expert in the areas of cyber security strategy, China Studies, as well as PLA Studies since he joined the academia. He also published related articles and research papers in various publications including SSCI ones. Right now, he holds a research project on China’s Internet Governance and Censorship.
