James Leibold was a non-resident Senior Fellow with ASPI’s International Cyber Policy Centre.

James is a leading authority on ethnic policymaking, ethnic tensions and ethno-nationalism in the People’s Republic of China, with a particular focus on Xinjiang and Tibet.

James is an Associate Professor at La Trobe University and the Head of its Department of Politics, Media and Philosophy. He is the author and co-editor of four books and over thirty peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, and a frequent contributor to the international media on these topics.
