Biography
Dr Frédéric Grare is Senior Research Fellow at the National Security College in Canberra, Associate Senior Policy Fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations(ECFR) and Non-resident Senior Fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
Dr Grare also worked as a policy officer at the Centre for Analysis, Planning and Strategy of the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Head of the Asia Bureau of the Directorate for Strategic Affairs of the French Ministry of Defence, and Director of the South Asia Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Washington. Grare’s research focus on South Asia foreign and security policy as well as the Indo-Pacific. His last book, The Indian Ocean as a New Political and Security Region, co-written with Jean-Loup Samaan, was published in 2022.
