Outreach Program
Program Detail
One of the most important roles for ASPI is to involve the broader community in the debate of defence and security issues. The thrust of the activities will be to provide access to the issues and facts through a range of activities and publications.
Raspal Khosa
is ASPI's Research Fellow and Outreach Program Manager. He is responsible for the preparation and research of the Defence Almanac publication, upcoming defence capability annuals and the Outreach Program.

National Security Project
Program Detail
Starting in January 2008, the Institute commenced a 2-year project examining Australia’s National Security in the 21st Century. This project is designed to run in parallel with the Government’s review of national security arrangements and subsequent crafting and implementation of a National Security Strategy.

Director of Research Programs
Program Detail
The Director of Research Programs is responsible for the Institute's research and publications programs on defence and international security issues, while assisting with the development of business plan activities.
Anthony Bergin
is the Director of Research Programs for ASPI. He is responsible for the Institute's research and publications programs on defence and international security issues. Dr Bergin was most recently Associate Professor of Politics, University of New South Wales at the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) in Canberra. From 1981-1985 he taught political science at the Royal Australian Naval College. From 1991-2003 he was the Director of the Australian Defence Studies Centre (ADSC). He is the author and editor of a number of important works including Future Unknown: the terrorist threat to Australian maritime security (ASPI, 2005), Naval Power in the Pacific (Westview, 1993), and The Pacific Patrol Boat Project: a Case Study in Defence Cooperation (ANU, 1994). He has written extensively on a wide range of national security and ocean policy issues.
