Executive Director
Peter
Jennings
Peter Jennings joined ASPI as Executive Director in April 2012. Peter’s career has included extensive experience advising government at senior levels; developing major strategic policy documents; conducting crisis management, and researching, writing and teaching international security. Most recently, Peter was the Deputy Secretary for Strategy in the Australian Department of Defence. He has previously held a number First Assistant Secretary positions in Defence including First Assistant Secretary International Policy Division, First Assistant Secretary Coordination and Public Affairs and Secretary of the Defence Audit and Risk Committee.

Deputy Director
Anthony
Bergin
is the Deputy Director of ASPI. He is responsible for the Institute's Parliamentary, industry, business and corporate engagement programs. Prior to joining ASPI, Dr Bergin was most recently Associate Professor of Politics, University of New South Wales at the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) in Canberra. From 1981-1985 he taught political science at the Royal Australian Naval College. From 1991-2003 he was the Director of the Australian Defence Studies Centre (ADSC). He is the author and editor of a number of important works including Future Unknown: the terrorist threat to Australian maritime security (ASPI, 2005), Naval Power in the Pacific (Westview, 1993), and The Pacific Patrol Boat Project: a Case Study in Defence Cooperation (ANU, 1994). He has written extensively on a wide range of national security and ocean policy issues.

is ASPI's Acting Chief Operating Officer, responsible for managing the business administration of the Institute including budgeting, strategic planning, project management, human resources, service delivery quality and access, and building workforce capability for the future.

Cavallaro
is in charge of the day to day administrative operations of ASPI and the point of contact for visitors and phone enquiries. Her role includes acting as executive assistant to Peter Jennings, along with a variety of administrative tasks, membership enquiries and handling of outgoing publications and incoming journals.

Corporate Relations Manager
Keanne
Stephenson
is ASPI's Corporate Relations Manager. She is responsible for the business development and corporate relationship of the sponsorship program at ASPI. Keanne has over 15 years experience in strategic marketing, branding, fundraising and corporate sponsorships, with a particular focus on the defence, national security and emergency management communities. She has extensive experience in the delivery and management of a coordinated approach to targeted marketing that promotes the organisation’s vision.
